Photos: Sir Alex Ferguson reacts to Man United’s painful defeat vs Liverpool

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson did not look too amused as he watched Reds slump to a disappointing 2-0 defeat by Liverpool in the first leg of their
Europa League last-16 clash at Anfield on Thursday night.
Ferguson was in the stands as Louis van Gaal’s men were thoroughly outplayed on Merseyside as Liverpool took a big step towards reaching the quarter-finals of the competition.
Former Red Devils manager looked to be in good spirits as he took his seat in the Anfield stands on Thursday night, but he looked a little less amused at the final whistle.
England international Daniel Sturridge put Liverpool ahead from the penalty spot in the 20th minute after Memphis Depay brought down Nathaniel Clyne.
Roberto Firmino then made it 2-0 when he finished from close range after Michael Carrick failed to clear his lines in the 73rd minute.
The result gives Liverpool a comfortable lead heading into next week’s return leg at Old Trafford next Thursday night.
