Daniel Sturridge has promised Liverpool will go for the
jugular at Old Trafford to ensure they send Manchester United crashing out of
Europe.
Liverpool are odds-on favourites to
reach the Europa League’s quarter-finals after winning the first
leg of their
last 16 clash 2-0.
Sturridge set the ball rolling with
an early penalty, which was the first goal he had scored for his current side
in Europe.
Jurgen Klopp, however, made a point
of saying afterwards that his side have not achieved anything yet and those
were sentiments with which Sturridge agreed, particularly as Liverpool have
only won twice at Old Trafford in the last 12 years.
Sturridge, though, was eager to
stress that Liverpool will not be playing a conservative game in the second
leg. He expects Klopp will tell his squad to swarm all over United once again
and make sure they don’t give Louis van Gaal’s side a glimmer of hope.
‘The Liverpool way is to win games
so we will go into the second leg and be positive – that is the only way,’ said
Sturridge, who says he is now 'fully fit' after a season disrupted by
injury.
‘The confidence is there within the
camp and we are just looking forward to every game.
